The Lingua centre is set up as a European village and students had to show passports they had created in order to go through make believe customs. This was a great opportunity for them to practise speaking Spanish alongside teachers at the school through a carousel of activities. They also had the opportunity to change pounds into euros and spend them in the clothes shop, bakery, café, tourist office and pharmacy!

Back to Back
Year eight students worked with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre to write a script that was then performed and filmed at the National Trust property, Back to Backs
The students were inspired by the property and used the lives and stories from people who lived and worked there as a stimulus to create a script, which they later performed. The play is about a family living in pre-war, back-to-back housing and tells many stories about historic Birmingham.
The students visited Back to Backs and researched stories from people who lived and worked at the property. The students worked with members of staff from the National Trust, met George Saunders who owned the Tailor Shop in the 1930's, and worked with a local community group to retrace and share their family history.
Year eight students worked alongside professionals at Trilby Multimedia to produce the film. Marcel Ebanks, hopes to have a career in the film industry and has been working with Trilby multimedia to develop his film making skills. The students worked at the theatre, directing their script with professional actors. The piece was then performed as part of the Transmissions Festival at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.Quote: "It is rewarding when students who don't normally want to write, pick up a pen and begin to put their ideas on paper."

Harborne Carnival
An outstanding carnival for all. Harborne celebrated its tenth carnival bringing business and residents together for a charity funding day. With stalls, jamborees and a brass band, Harborne was certainly the place to be. Over £200,000 has been raised for charities since the carnival was introduced. Harborne Hill School was very proud to participate with their own stall.
